Independend Safety Examinations (LOLER)

The law requires that all lifts when in use must be thoroughly examined at least once every six months by a competent person if the lift is used at any time to carry passengers.

Independent Lift Consultants Ltd carry out LOLER examinations on behalf of lift owners and provide written reports instructing and advising with regard to safety and servicability.

Engineering Insurance to Cover your Lift Equipment

We can provide engineering insurance policies to cover your equipment in the eventuality of damage or failure.

Engineering insurance is a robust, value for money option to give you peace of mind that the cost of equipment failure is covered. 

Should the need arise, we can assist you in making a claim as part of our service to you and act on your behalf to aid in resolving the situation as swiftly and thoroughly as possible.

Lift equipment is complex, varied and expensive. Knowing what equipment to purchase, at which price and from whom can be a daunting and problematic task. As lift engineers we use our industry knowledge and engineering experience to act on behalf of our customers to achieve the best results, at the right price by a contractor who is right for you.

Free advice and support for our LOLER customers

If you have your LOLER inspections and/or engineering insurance provided by us, we are pleased to offer free advice and support for any lift related issues regarding the day to day running of your equipment.

As part of our service to you we will always be available to assist with any questions, concerns, queries or advice that is needed with regard to your lift. We will also liaise with your lift contractor regarding any issues that arise. This service is provided to our customers at no extra cost.

We are a family team of qualified engineers who have spent a life time working in the lift industry. We have a combined experience of over 60 years and have run our own lift engineering business since the year 2000. In that time we have worked in every sector of lift engineering, from project management of lift instillation or modernisation works all the way through the commissioning and testing of new or modernised lift equipment to certify that they are safe and compliant with British Standards. As well as commissioning and auditing we have direct and extensive experience in fault finding, repair and preventative maintenance.

With this lifetime of hands on experience we seek to provide a service direct to lift owners and operators to assist them in all matters relating to their lifts. Whether it's LOLER examination, consultancy, project management or simple advice, our aim is to aid you in safely, reliably and cost effectively operating and maintaining your lift.

WHY USE A LIFT CONSULTANT?

Building owners and managers have significant responsibilities under Health & Safety related regulations, disabled access requirements and compliance with British standards for lifts. Added to this lift technology is varied, complex and can be expensive.

Without expert knowledge knowing which work to undertake, what equipment to purchase, which company to complete the project and at what cost can be a daunting and problematic task.

 

Our business exists to provide a service that assists our customers in making the best choices regarding their lifts. We provide condition surveys, specifications, project management for lift modernisation or installation works and in service maintenance management.

When considering modernisation works, condition surveys are carried out and reports completed to advise on which lift equipment should be retained and which elements should be modernised. Bespoke specifications are then tailored to the client's specific requirements. Once these two elements are established we will oversee the tender process to ensure that the right equipment is installed, at the right price and by the right contractor.

Our goal is to work for the benefit of our customers and help them ensure that they are getting robust products, that are appropriate for their needs and offer value for money in both the long and short term.
