During the service life of a lift, modernisation projects are a common necessity for lift owners and operators. Whether it is due to reliability, conformity to current standards or to bring an ageing lift up to date, modernisation work is an important process to get right.
Lift technology is varied, complex and can be expensive. Without expert knowledge, knowing which work to undertake, what equipment to purchase, which company to complete the project and at what cost can be a daunting and problematic task.
Independent Lift Consultants Ltd exists to provide our customers with expert advice and project management services to ensure that the best results are achieved at the right price.
As independent lift engineers who are qualified in the testing, commissioning and certification of newly installed or modernised lifts, we have a life time of hands on experience with the full spectrum of lift equipment and inside industry knowledge.
We use this experience to survey, report and project
manage proposed works on the behalf of our customers.
When contracted by you we will complete a lift condition survey and make clear recommendations. This will include which equipment would benefit from replacement and which elements remain in a robust serviceable condition and would therefore be cost effective to retain.
Bespoke specifications are then tailored to our client's specific requirements and with this information we put the proposed works out to tender on your behalf. When the lift contractors respond with pricing and proposed equipment lists, we will advise on which proposals come back at the best value for money taking into consideration both the short and long term.

Throughout the project, from start to finish we will liaise with the contractor and complete site visits to ensure that the right equipment is being installed and that works are progressing according to schedule.
On completion of the works we will assess the finished job highlighting any quality issues or failure to provide equipment or finishes in line with the specification. In this event we will communicate with the lift company on your behalf to either have the issues resolved or have the final payment proportionately reduced in line with the value of works not completed.
